One thing...

One thing that absolutely makes me love my man is the fun that we have any time we are together. We aren't just husband and wife, we are best friends. We laugh together. We cry together. We sit in silence together. We have fun together. We LOVE to be together.

Kyle was in great need of a day off so through some gentle convincing on my part, he took a vacation day today and spent the day with us girls just "hanging out"! We ate his yummy homemade waffles while chatting around the breakfast table and then got alot of little things done that had been put on the "back burner" for quite some time. We've done a great deal of visiting, laughing and having fun as a family.

Visited Dr. Mallary...

Worked on Christmas Lists...

Broke a wish bone...

Worked on our budget...
(Notice the chocolate to ease the pain...)

Along with:
A road trip to the post office...

Preparing the yard/patio for winter...

It's been a great day and I am so thankful for the time that we've been able to share together. One thing that I love about my man is the simple but wonderful ways in which he loves his girls...
me included! :o)

I love my man!

Thanksgiving Memories...

As I have went about my day today, I was thinking back to the special times we had as a family over Thanksgiving, both here at home and with both sides of my family. They were times of comfort, fun, food, and fellowship!

One tradition in our family, is to always have our dinner just the four of us the day before Thanksgiving. Mom, Mal and I went and got groceries that morning and then came home and started cooking. The first thing we make each year is our "Hot Sipper", a fruity, cinnamon, hot juice which we drink in our tea cups while reading some Thanksgiving books!

I LOVE this doing this each year!!!

Mal and I wanted to set the table to make it look fancy, so while Mom got things ready to start supper, we decorated the dining room table! We then made our traditional Cornish Hens (Dad was home in time to help with those), along with garlic mashed potatoes, Stove Top Stuffing, green beans, and crescent rolls! It was DELICIOUS!!! We also made a strawberry cheesecake for dessert, but by the time our evening was over we were all too tired and full to eat it! :-)

Dad having a little "too much fun" with the hens!?!

Before...

After!

Our beautiful table!

Enjoying our meal!

Strawberry Cheesecake!

This year was extra special for some reason and I praise God for the special memories that we made!

Officially Fall!!!

I have this thing each year that it's not "officially" fall until...

Punkin' Pie!!!

It's always better with whipped cream... :-)

Enjoying it with special people...

The "long awaited" bite!

Fall is my ultimate favorite season. I love the colors, the leaves, the smells, the memories! But, I never really consider it fall until the first pumpkin pie is made! It is definitely a comfort food to me whether because of its rich creaminess, its bright orange color, or its cozy smell! I love the atmosphere of watching mom make it and adding the different spices to the mixture, each with their distinct scents and tastes! I love eating it after it has had time to chill in the refrigerator, with a small glass of milk! I love the special moments!!!
